Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said on Tuesday that the team recently made an offer to free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
He added, however, that the two sides aren't close to a deal.

OBJ was in the building a few weeks ago and an offer was made, but doesn’t sound like the sides are particularly close
Grier's words come less than two weeks after Dolphins All-Pro wideout Tyreek Hill sparked rumors of Beckham Jr. coming to South Beach with a Snapchat post of himself embracing OBJ.
Miami head coach Mike McDaniel first said in late March that Beckham Jr. had visited the team and things "went great." McDaniel also said that the Dolphins offered the former AP Offensive Rookie of the Year a contract, but he left without signing.
Beckham Jr. signed a one-year, $15M deal with the Baltimore Ravens in April 2023 and was released in mid-March.
The LSU product finished his lone campaign in Baltimore with just 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns on 64 targets. Beckham Jr. missed three contests and his 2.5 receptions per game were the lowest of his career.
His touchdowns also tied for the fewest in his nine seasons and his 40.4 yards per contest were the second lowest. Beckham Jr. did still show occasional burst though, as his 16.1 yards per catch were the highest of his career.
Miami already has Hill and fellow star wideout Jaylen Waddle expected to lead as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's best pass-catching options in 2024 but the team may be looking for more depth at the position.
Hill and Waddle combined for 191 receptions for 2,813 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2023. Outside of those two players, no other wide receiver reached 30 catches or 300 receiving yards.
